Just a few months ago, I had the pleasure of catering a one-of-a-kind wedding at a fun and eccentric event space, The Quixotic World. I can say that I have been to a few wedding events in Dallas over the last decade, and this one would turn out to be one of the most memorable of them yet.
It was a Dallas wedding like no other...
We were approached by a couple, who loved our Amazing Brisket, and all of our other mouth-watering barbecue options, that they hired us to cater their wedding. It was to be held at The Quixotic World, and as I had driven by a dozen of times in my Downtown Dallas travels, I had never been blessed to attend an event there yet.
The original location was located in The Cedars district on the south side of Dallas, but they moved in 2011 to their current location, in the heart of Deep Ellum, at 2824 Main Street. All those years, so curious as to what was held inside, I was anxious as the day of the event came closer. Finally on the day of the event, I walked into the theatrical magical event space, to find a venue so filled with fantasy and imagination, that it was indeed a Quixotic World, all of its own.
Let your creativity become reality at this Dallas event space
Eric Sacks, creator and owner, wanted The Quixotic World, to be a place like no other in Dallas. He wanted to host events, weddings, graduations, theatrical performances, that may not be considered the norm. We had the pleasure of speaking about the world he created, and he said, "anything goes, as long as it is legal." The space can seat up to 200 guests, which allows the heights of your creativity to be your reality, when you host an event at this venue.
There is a large projector on site, to play any show or movie of your delight. A wall of hats allows you to become a character of your choice, from the Mad Hatter to the Pharaoh of Egypt. The staff were all eager to please, and made the overall wedding a huge success.
Big Box Catering is looking forward to their next event
With a space as fantastic as this one, our food was just the icing on the cake for all of the guests that attended. The lucky couple chose to serve our smoked brisket and sausage, with our loaded mashed potatoes and mac 'n cheese. We served up the best barbecue The Quixotic World had ever served at its location, and had guests coming up for seconds. Big Box Catering can cater at any venue in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but this one will be one I remember for years to come.
